Rooster Paper-Cut Out Statue
This charming wooden decorative rooster was handmade by folk artist Malgorzata Welc of Warsaw, Poland. Malgorzata takes inspiration for this design from the paper cut-outs (wycinanki) from the "Łowicz" region of Poland.
A rooster is a popular symbol used in the folk art of Poland. In Polish folk culture, a rooster is considered to be a vigilant bird and with the ability to foresee potential danger. It is often thought to be a guardian of the home. In addition, roosters are thought to inspire extraordinary creative power and contribute to fertility.
The rooster approximately measures about 8"/ 20 cm (width) inch and 10"/ 25 cm (height) at the widest points. This statue is double sided.
